How to make Fogs turn off when High Beams turn on? 700

Like a few people here, I built a custom 12ga. wiring harness (as per Daniel Stern's diagram), bought some relays, and some Hella H1's and H4's. I was so pleased with the results, I made another harness with a relay for my fog lights mounted in the spoiler. But I have have lost the function on the fogs going off when the high beams are flashed, and coming back on when the highs go off. Now if I have the fogs on and turn on the high beams, the fogs stay on. The high beams will only turn off if I turn the fogs off first. With the fogs off, highs turn off and on like they should. Do I need another relay or some wires somewhere? Maybe some connection between the highs and fogs is needed. I have pondered the weak Haynes wiring diagram, but it makes me cross-eyed.
Hopefully someone out there knows the answer to this.

Take power from a low beam connection either at your added relay or at the light itself and use that to supply power to your foglight switch. This way you will only be able to turn on the fogs when the low beams are on. Fogs will stay off with headligts off. Note: holding the dimming stalk back will light both high and low beams (and fogs if switch is on). This is the only time that happens. You will have to release the stalk to get only high beams or low beams.
If you decide to do this, consider adding an in line fuse at the point of connection to protect your foglight switch wiring. (1 or 2 amps)

"Note: holding the dimming stalk back will light both high and low beams (and fogs if switch is on)".

So all six lights would be on if the fog switch was on. That's what I have now. Not exactly what I'm trying to do. What I want: If the lows and fogs are on, and I pull the dimming stalk back to turn on the highs, I want the fogs to turn off automatically, and turn back on when the highs go off. Just like stock.

There would be a total of eight elements lit if you physically held the stalk back against spring pressure with your fog switch on. Since that is what you seem to want to do, but without fogs:

To turn off the fogs automatically when high beams are lit, you will need to add another relay that is energized by the high beams. Use the normally closed terminals on the relay to control the foglight ground circuit, or the fog light relay coil ground circuit. When fog switch is on and high beams off, relay is not energized and fogs (or fog relay coil) get a ground. When fog switch is on and high beams are on, relay is energized and ground circuit to fogs (or fog relay coil) is interupted.

Bagle, yes I think that's it. My co-worker who is much smarter than I drew me a diagram of exactly what you describe, using a second relay that is normally closed. I know I didn't do such a good job explaining what I was trying to achieve in my first post. Thank you very much for your help.

The relay that controls power to the fogs is getting power to its coil from a separate source. Draw out the disgram of what you have, and the connection should show up.

    Good Luck,
