Separating bellhouse+gearbox from engine 900 1991

I am desparately trying to separate the bellhouse/gearbox from the engine (B21F) of my Volvo 940 (1991) to replace the clutch. I have read some of the comments at this website aboute renewing the clutch, but nobody seemed to have troubles to get the gearbox down under the car (I have to do the job without a proper bridge and with a provisional hoist).

Is there any trick to separate the bellhouse from the engine without destroying some of the vital parts?

Thanks for any suggestion!
