Reliable A/C compressor source 700

I hear horror stories about replacement A/C compressors for my 1991 740 SW and would appreciate info from Brickboardians on sources of reliable compressors, preferably of the economical persuasion. I think I'm going to replace the condenser, too, and information on that subject will be welcome..

    both places sell new compressors for less than what rebuilt ones cost around here
