Oil pan drain plug S90-V90

I have a 1997 960, I was going to change the oil today, got the filter off... it was much easier than the 740's... but where is the drain plug? Is it the 17mm bolt at the very back of the oil pan? I know that Porsche designed these white block engines and my 944 has the same size plug. Also another trade mark is that the plug is not on the bottom of the pan, but towards the side.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

-Kelly

Make sure you change the crush washer S90-V90

There is an aluminum or copper washer around the plug that must be changed each time you change the oil or its, Drip, Drip, Drip on your driveway till you do it. Buy a few of em from the dealer (about a buck apiece) or from FCP Groton when you do an order. Learned the hard way on that one...

That's it. Exercise a bit of care when removing it since it's probably very tight and due to the crappy material it's made from, it's pretty easy to round off.
