difference between two wagons 1991 vintage 700

Does anyone know what the difference is between 1992 740 and 940 wagons...thanks...jeffry

With exception of the 940SE model:

Mostly confined to interior appointments with respect to seats and power options. 940 has standard ABS brakes. The engine choices were the same for both 1991 740 and 940. Same suspension, same body (different front end on the 940, actually, but only the grille and headlights) and that is all. There may have been rear axle differences (this is the eternal locking differential debate, as all 940s for 1991 were "supposed" to be equipped with it).

That is about the jist of it. The cars are fundamentally the same car.
