service light on 88 760gle 700

i tried reseting the service light, and it went off, but came back on immediately after i restarted the car, it's always on for the first few minutes the car is running. what causes this light to come on? ecu problems, bad sensors, etc.?

Are you sure it was reset properly?

Service is just a dummy light. Comes on every... 5000 miles I believe to remind you to do oil changes and other maintenance stuff.

Now if Check Engine came on, that's different.
