1988 780 Factory alarm whoas.... 700

Can anyone tell me anything about the factory/dealer alarm on a 1988 780? IE: How it works, is there a key fob, why when I put it in auto arm when I unlock the door it goes off? Thanks for any help! Info: Names David / 780, I live in wonderful Dayton, OH (caugh) yeah right...Im a painter by trade, and this is my first Brick, a Blue Pearl Metallic with Blue/Black int and V6 engine..148k and very neglected by PO. Ive got my work cut out for me Thanks

1988 780 Factory alarm whoas.... 700

I have an 87 so I don't know if it is the same as yours but yes there is a key fob. You place it up against the window matching it up to the alarm and the red light blinks on. When you return to the car do the same thing and the light blinks off and you can unlock the car. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info, what all does the fob control? does it lock-unlock the doors etc....Can you send me a pic of it? Hotgti91@aol.com Do you have and literature on it in your owners manual, can you send me a copy of it? Last but not least where do I get one (fob, the dealer? Thanks David

1988 780 Factory alarm whoas.... 700

Unfortunately it does not unlock the doors it only turns the alarm on and off. I don't have any literature on it and I would assume the dealer could get you one. It has no buttons or anything it is just a small black rectangular piece of plastic.
