Do you know guys that the 164`s was the latest "clean" product from Volvo. The car after was a product with most a Renault engine. Because after the 164`s the teamwork between Volvo and Renault was starting. So the 164`s is speciel on more than one way.

Greetings All!
Whenever we start feeling sorry for ourselves over all the
tribulations involved in keeping our old Swedes running, we merely
need to track-down the nearest Citroen owner and ask him about
'Green Blood' . . . Be sure to take a box of Kleenex with you,
for when he starts to weep profusely.
And yes, I know there's supposed to be the special mark over
the 'e', but U.S. keyboards don't have it . . .

Very few countries have special character keyboards. You get the characters by holding Ctrl and Shift while typing the ASCII character code and then releasing Ctrl and Shift (Num Lock must be off). Examples (not sure about the spelling):
é = 130 (gravé-"e")
ê = 136
ë = 137 (umlout-"e")
è = 138 (gravis-"e")
Codes run up to 255. Search the Net for a full list, or contact any software engineer. The correct spelling of my name is Niël, Afrikaans/Dutch spelling and same pronounsiation of Neil, and the purpose of the " is to indicate that the "e" is the start of a new syllable. Sorry, my parents are both into languages... Usually I just stick to electronics.

Back to your response, I would rather say that we have tribulations in keeping our Swedes running WELL. Other cars have tribulations in keeping them running AT ALL.

I probably don't know what I'm talking about and have never owned one,
but aren't the B21, B23, B230, etc sure-enough VOLVO engines?
I know the V6s had some French (?) engineering in them but I thought the
inline engines were pretty much descendents of the famous B18/B20/B30 series.

Yes...well, I think the inline motors are all Volvo... The V-6 of the late '70s and 80s was a Puzho. (I can't spell that stuff). Actually, them French motors ain't all that bad... they are just average. And they eat cams...

And of course, the diesel inline 6 was a VW unit.

That is how it is spelled, but it is pronounced basically how you spelled it. Also, don't the b20/30s eat cams as well? After a while anyway..
Later,
Kyle

If the OEM lifters are bad they do.
I imagine the cams are cheaper than for the V6 though, at least the
B18/20 cams.
