I have been using the Costco Bridgestones on both of my Volvos. They are both on their second set. I get the 195/60's 15in. Seem to last about 50k miles with ample tread remaining. Never had a problem with them slipping in the rain or breaking a cord (unlike the original Michelins). I have had nails in them but Costco repairs or replaces them under warranty with no problem. I am very happy with Costco and Bridgestones.

I'll second the endorsement of Dunlop; I think that is the best tire going for the money. I really do not like Bridgestone. While they last forever, they are the hardest, most uncomfortable tire I have ever run. I finally just trashed them at 40k, even with tread left. I couldn't take it any longer.

Same old MXV4 story, good wear and ride in the dry, overpriced and zero traction on wet pavement. Hated by performance guys because there are so many better choices for less money. Go to tirerack.com and check prices and owner reviews to get a good tire. Dunlop Sport SP2s for example.

the mxv4 is an excellent tire. both for ride and and handling. bridgestones are definitely a step down from the michelin, but they are a good tire and if cost is a factor for you i wouldnt hesitate to use bridgestones.
