Thew A/C compressors in 700's volvo were pretty good and typicly died in a froozen mode, if the outside of the Compressor spins chances are the compressor itself it okay, i know in the winter time i remove the A/C belt to improve gas mileage and to keep ware off the compressor as i purchased a new one for around $250.00. To test for leaks if you decide to do the 134A conversion yourself fill her up with some neon coloring which also comes in a can, youll need a black light with most products to see where the leak is. its pretty easy, the volvo conversion kit comes with most of the O rings you will need to replce, the ones it doesnt come with should be avai from the person you bought the kit from.
To get the radio out its kinda a pain in the but, i know the 3 ive done i remove the center dash parts below the radio, take a flat head on each side push them in ( there is one large clip on each side ) until i have pushed the clip back and pull hard, all three have slid out, make sure you get the correct wire harness for your new radio as cutting the wires and figuring out which goes where take awhile.
