M 4 output shaft

Does anyone know the thread size for the output shaft on a M 4 4sp trans? The locknut has cracked and trial and error for a replacement has become frustrating.

I don't know the size but it is very likely metric and you could certainly
check it with a micrometer and a pitch gage.

actually i think most of the threads used on those old cars was standard. very little metric i can think of, they didnt switch over to metric til about 1974 or so. but definitely use a pitch guage and micrometer or caliper to be sure.

The 122 and the 140/164 used unified threads but my 544s and my 444
were all, or nearly all, metric.
