Synthetic in the Rearend 900

I've decided to go synthetic all the way in my 91 940T. I switched out the power steering fluid to synthetic and also the tranny, both with Mobile 1 synthetic tranny fluid. I'm also considering putting Mobil 1 synthetic gear oil in the rear end. I know it has a limited slip differential, I was wondering will this affect the operation of the limited slip clutches. Thanks in advance fellow bricksters!!

How often do most people change the gear oil in their differentials? Most people never do it or if the car's lucky maybe once/100k miles. Ever consider using Redline?

    From Redline:
75W90 Gear Oil - the preferred product in nearly all car and light truck differentials, both conventional and limited-slip. 75W90 is preferred for most racing applications. It contains friction modifier which is recommended for limited-slip units. 75W90 Gear Oil can be used in many transmissions and transaxles; however, other Red Line lubricants have better frictional properties for rapid synchronization. Exceeds API GL-5.

75W90 NS - a GL-5 which does not contain the friction modifiers for limited-slip hypoid differentials. This makes the transmission synchronizers come to equal speeds more quickly, allowing faster shifting and much easier low-temperature shifting. Can also be used in racing limited-slip differentials where weak spring design causes too much wheel spin.

PS: the cost difference per quart relative to Mobile 1 is generally $3-4 bucks/qt and you'll only going to need a couple quarts.

Your car does not have clutches in the rear end, which will be an Eaton locker. According to the FAQ, a GL5 rated lubricant is required. See the 700/900 FAQ, http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/Driveline.htm#AutomaticLockingDifferentialLubricants
