A/C bypass 200

In case anyone wants belt size to bypass the A/C compressor.
I bypassed the A/C compressor on my 1986 240 b230, 242000. Had to cut off the access hole to the tensioner (for the timing belt) to get the new belt to fit. Bought the belt at NAPA, Premium XL Belt 25/64 x 54-1/8 = 9.5/10mm x 1375mm.
Nice to have reliable power steering again.

The angle you have the belt running at isn't good. It may throw the belt off
under high rpms. I recommend that you get the spacer from IPD or make your own
spacer and move the pump pulley out so it lines up with the crank pulley better.

IPD spacer not for '86 200

I believe it stops at 84. I aclled to order and they told me it won't work on 87. Thay said from 85 on you can just get another belt. I assumed that it would be driving other item as well from the other side of the engine, sharing a pulley.
      Happy motoring
