rocker panel access 200

Hi

I want to renew the rustproofing wax inside the rocker panels.

Now I need advice what is the best way to gain access to the inside of the rocker panels.

Thanks in advance for any advice

Ciao

The rocker panel is, as you know, a sort of square cross-section tube. At the front, it gets air (and stuff) in from the grille under the wipers. Theoretically, the air and water and stuff drains out through four or five small openings along the welded seam at the bottom of the panel.

Access to the inside of the panel is from the inside of the cabin. Requires removing at least the front carpet, maybe the rear, too. There are some three or four 2 inch diameter plastic covers in the vertical wall of the front and rear footwells. Remove the covers and look inside the rocker panel.

For a larger access, remove the bottom seat belt anchor, and the panel to which it is attached. That opens and hole large enough for a vacuum cleaner hose, if a small diameter.

Good Luck,

Bob
