Ground voltage 700

I am installing a subwoofer in my '91 Volvo 740 sedan. I need to know if it has a 12 volt ground because the amp requires that. How do I know?

I'm going to resist the temptation to ask how you got your nickname.

Just about every car you see on the road is 12 volt negative ground. Older VWs may be 6 volt, and I think some old Jags might be 12 volt positive ground, but don't worry your head about that. Any car stereo amp you find for sale in a store is fine.

That said, MAKE SURE you fuse the power supply at the battery, not just at the amp. I've seen a few car fires and don't want to see any more.

If you are really struggling to install this amp email me directly.

    -Dylan

See if one of your battery cables goes to ground somewhere.
Should be the negative (-) cable.

Think back 15 years and you'll remember that Chrysler used a positive ground system. Not such a silly question if one doesn't know!
