Generic O2 sensor replacement 700 1991

Does anyone know which other O2 sensors you can use for B230FT engines? When splicing do you just match the colours from the Volvo lead to the replacement?

I read somewhere on the forum that 5.0 litre Mustang sensors worked well, they only have a 4" lead on them.

Someone else had said that all 3 wire sensors heads are the same, is there anyway to confirm this?

I just finished installing a Ford sensor my Foreign Auto parts guy got me. It was a short harness, about 4-6" after I snipped off the Ford connector, and I soldered the old harness in place. There is one black wire, two white. I found that neither of the white is common to ground (the case of the O2) so I decided polarity is fine either way. Just make sure your iron's hot, as the (steel?) wires are not as easy to heat as copper. A little heatshrink and careful reuse of the original protective sleeve, and you've probably saved $50-$75.

Unfortunately it looks like that may go to a new AMM in my case. The O2 voltage is still .8-.9, with the only changes coming at throttle closed, falling back to idle from 2K rpm.

A good snip and solder O2 sensor is the Bosch #13913. It ran me $32. I don't know what car the connector was made for but the price was made for me. The Bosch website said that the OEM, universal, 2, and 3 wire sensors will all work on my Volvo leading me to believe that Bosch a O2 sensor is a Bosch O2 sensor. The price difference comes with the luxury of an OEM connector.

Just be sure not to use a Walker o2 sensor. Mine only lasted abour 5k. What a headache (time/money/...) to diagnos. "I just replaced the o2 sensor, must be the Catalytic converter, No, it must be the MAF, It can't be the fuel filter, just replaced that!"
