1993 960 - changed battery & car won't start 900

Hi

I have a 1993 960 and I think this car is going to be the death of me. I changed the battery this weekend and now the car won't start. The car was running reasonablye well before and now the engine turns over easily but never starts. There is no hint of starting. It's as if it was out of gas or all the spark plugs were disconnected (there is gas and the plugs are connected).

Help!

Joe

You said you confrimed that you has gasoline coming into the cylinders....

You also need to verify that you have spark at the plugs as well.

The cables aren't corroded and are making good contact. There is spark and gas. There are no codes and the fuses are all intact. Could I have fried the computer disconnecting or reconnecting the battery?

If you have fuel AND spark, you should have ignition. Could your timing be wayyyyy off somehow?

See the FAQ for a discussion about battery cable corrosion. If your voltage is too low, the ECU will not operate. Also make sure you in fact re-connected all the wires to the battery posts (especially the positive cable).
