CD Changer - Shock Sensitive

I just installed an used Alpine CHM S611 CD Changer under the rear deck inside the trunk using some brackets that came with it. To install, I had to drill some holes to install the screws to hang the unit.

However, it is EXTREMELY shock sensitive. Any kind of bump, even going over a manhole cover upsets it.

Is there something I'm missing? Would a half inch of rubber between the bracket and the mounting surface help?

Thanks,

Tom

CD Changer - Shock Sensitive-SOLVED!!

A simple thing after all! I'll admit to my stupidity. I'll left the shipping screws in so it couldn't "float" at all.

Thanks for your reply Steve.

Tom

Something wrong: our S620 units have no such problems. They appear to have some shock mountings integral with the unit.
