Power Antenna 700 1987

on 1987 740, power antenna is in the fully retracted position but suddenly refuses to extend. Is there a relay or something that may bad or maybe the motor is bad? Any suggestions.

    There is a relay, if you have a factory power antenna, that's in a rubber cover mounted in the wiring just in front of the antenna. It should click as you turn your radio on and off. Or when you flip the switch on the dash.
    A lot of people miss the antenna switch on the dashboard- it's to the left of the steering wheel and it's got a "Y" on it. That puts the antenna down for going into the garage, or car wash. Some people I know had a 740 for years and didn't know it was there until the kids played with it one day, flipping all the switches.... and the antenna "stopped" working.

      I have all of the original sales and warrantee paperwork with my 1987 car. One of the warrantee write ups was "Power antenna not working". Yes, the dealer repaired it by rocking the switch.
