There is a 1982(?) Burgundy Volvo 240 4-door sedan for sale on Eastern Avenue in Mount Rainier, Maryland. Mount Rainier is located on the northeast border of Washington, DC, not far from Catholic University. It intersects Rhode Island Avenue, NE.

I don't know who owns the car. I just want to find a good home for a Volvo, if possible. It has been up for sale since around January 2003. The telephone number on the car is 301-379-5579. The asking price is $595, down from $695.

Major caveat! There are often a number of used cars for sale on this street. Only someone who knows cars and knows Volvos should consider looking at this vehicle. The hub caps are rusty so that means that the breaks may be rusty, as well. The paint job is dull and the interior needs some repairs. I don't know about the engine or transmission. You'll have to look into that yourself.

If at all possible, please consider buying this car.

Sounds like the guy I bought my 1980 from. Markssalvage. The car I bought was ok for the ride home, afterwards I found the many forms of doctoring that had occured. Can't complain for 500 bucks, and I needed a ride after my accident, so it all worked out. I've got it running really well now and will consentrate on the interior cleaning and panel replacements. The trans is now slipping and I wonder if some sort of trans fix was added..... Lucky I have a good M-45 to throw in. Buyer beware unless you don't mind repairs.. I changed the oil in this car, and the front seals immediately started leaking, like a sieve!!!
So I assume some sealer type of crap was added. The guy is a salvage dealer so this is what you should expect.
