Brake lights One bright/one dim. 200

Rear left brake light is dim[during the day it appears out-so say the NYPD. The rear right is very bright [lens is starting to show signs of heat warpage].What's going on! TIA

Pull the bulb holders on each side. One bulb is the wrong size. IIRC the right size is 1156, 32 CP. In fact, the larger CP bulbs get a deeper bulb holder - keeps the hotter bulb farther away from the lens, heat damage ya know.

    Hope this helps.

    Good Luck,

    Bob

Another thing to check: Make sure you have to different color bulb holders, one black and one white. When these two holders were switched side to side before on my 244, the brakelights were very dim during the day and impossible to detect at night. (the tail light circuit was lighting the brighter filament and the brake light circuit was lighting the dimmer filament). I'm thinking maybe you have to of the same color bulb holders.

That was my first thought, too. BTDT. But since I did not receive his header picture, I looked for its properties and found its URL. The URL contains the section 1978....Bertone.

Thus I knew he did not have the "White on the right" deal that the 1986+ 240's have.

BTW, I have to do the same drill to get the picture you post. Good 'Ol aol.

        Regards,

        Bob
