just changed my driver-side front caliper and the brake failure light won't go out. is there a way to reset it without more bleeding of the system?

Stat:
Follow the brake lines from the master cylinder down the driver's side to the "octopus" where they all connect. This is the pressure sensor. on top is a plastic valve where an electrical wire connects. Use a wrench, remove it, step on the brake pedal, replace the valve...VOILA!!
hope it works, has for me.

There is a little plunger in the failure valve that in theory will stay centered when there is equal hydraulic pressure on both sides of it. I had the same thing happen to me just after bleeding brakes. Most of the responses said I had to remove some sort of plug, take a scribe or something and center the plunger, put plug back in. I had one response that said to just stomp real hard on my brake pedal a few times.

Being a lazy-ass I stomped the brake pedal a couple of times and the next day the light was out. Don't know if stomping made the plunger wander back to where it belonged or if the freakin' bulb burned out.

Have fun,

Justin B.
