FAQ on engine swap ? 200

I have recnetly aquired a '79 245 body in purrfect (nearly) condition. It's a manual. I'm wondering which engine(s) are possible to swap, which would be the most desirable, and which would be the most impoossible. Is there an FAQ out there to help me locate the best scenereo for this project? I don't need a pile of project engines lying about an already crouded shop! By the way, the previous owner ststes that the crank was bad, and the oil ran out, so the current engine is shot. Also, apparantly the syncro's were grinding so the tranny is suspect as well.

    Do not go serious on this guy. He is trying to take the piss on a post of mine from a few days ago.
