Rotating tires on '90 740 700

Hello Bricksters,

I have a '90 740ti and can't find any information on tire rotation in my manual. Is it the "X" cross-over pattern or the stay on the same side front to back and back to fronts. Current tires are Goodyear Eagles and I don't see any rotation indicaters on the tires.

Thanks in advance and this is a great forum for information

Rotating tires on '90 740 700

Even though they say that current radial tire technology allows for an X-pattern tire rotation, I still rather not chance it, and when rotating tires, I keep 'em on the same side.

The reasoning is that the (steel) belts get used to rotating in one direction ... flip it, and it will flex in the other. Typical to a lot of metals, bend it back and forth enough, and they can weaken, and perhaps even break. In a tire's case, in which the rubber is bonded to the belts, it can weaken the bond, causing tread separation.
