Hey guys,
I'm about to replace the power rack on my '83 242glt and wondering if the manual rack was a direct bolt in. If not,how much modifying to do?

I swapped a power steering rack from an 83 244 into my 80 242 (replacing man. Rack) fit perfectly and was a fairly easy job.

From extracting several of both types, I would say the two interchange as long as you have the sttering shaft up to the splined joint near the firewall and the mounting bits, for each type of rack. Also, the tie rods are different (manual vs. power), I seem to recall.
