Service light stays on for about 1 min

The last thing a can remeber doing to the car (89 740 GLE 16 valve)was putting new posts on the batt. Then I was driving it and the car stopped dead and I had to pull over. When I opened the hood I saw the postive post had come off. I think that was the last thing that happened to the car before it has gaven me this new problem.


So now when I start the car the service light stays on for about 1 min.
I was woundering if anyone could help me with this problem

Service lights work on a clock- every so many miles (like 10K) they go on. They stay on for a minute or two as a reminder each time you start the car.
The reset button is in the bottom of the instrument cluster, behind a black rubber plug.
Read the owners manual, and read the 700/900 FAQ.
