Fuel pressure problem?? Please Help I'm stuck again and losing love for my 240!! 200

This is starting to be one of those times where I'm getting frustrated with having a Volvo. Last week drove the 300 miles or so to the folks place. While there changed oil, air filter. Went to go home and car was bogging down and stalled. Turned around went back to folks place. Car would start and stay running at idle, on ocassion it would stall while at idle. If I gave it gas hard and let off gas it would stall and kick back in. under hood fuse ok, both pre-pump and pump ok, new fuel filter ok, found crack in sending unit return line. New sending unit installed. problem solved???? Seemed to run fine and decided to drive back home and died after a hour of highway driving!!! Called good old dad to come get me. On side of road took of gas line off right before it goes to the injection manifold and sure enough there was fuel coming out. Hooked it back and drove it back to my folks place. Stuck again!! Is there some kind of fuel pressure regulator??? PLEASE HELP ME!!! I am losing love for my 240!! Help!!! Thanks...mike

Fuel pressure problem?? Please Help I'm stuck again and losing love for my 240!! 200

I have a 85 240 and the fuel pump fuse wire under hood is bad (it wiggles and than there is no power at main relay under dash) When the car is running and that wire vibrates it loses a conection and than pumps stop and car dies. If i turn key to start and turn moter over and it wont start i listen as i turn key to off position if i dont hear pumps for a short blast than i go wiggle the fuse wire under hood. It usualy starts after that. A way to cheack this is stick a test light to the large red wire at main or fuel relay while looking at test light turn key to the run position if no light than there is a fault at that red wire as that red (large wire)goes directly from battery to fuel relay. Red wire is larger than the others and will stand out. This is whats wrong with my car its a simple fix and i like to live dangerously so it will wiggle and giggle. As this may not be whats wrong with your car the syptoms are the same hope it helps if fuel pumps run and stop and than run and than stop your engine will stumble and use all availible gas till there is no fuel presher hence the engine is useing fuel faster than the pumps can supply. There will be no pressher if the pumps are intermitenly working. Well on my car thats whats wrong and i thought it was a FPR its a wire. Good luck please repost when you fix it as i would like to cheack my car (same symptom)other possible cause
