Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) 200 1992

I'm looking to replace the pipe between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter. It appears that there are different pipes for the sedan and wagon and ALSO for cars with and without EGR. I've looked it up in my Haynes manual and I cannot find the EGR parts under my hood--but the book indicates that a '92 wagon like mine should have EGR.

Can anyone tell me: Do I necessarily have EGR, and how can I verify that?

I'll attach a picture at the end of this post.

If you have a 50-state 240 (aka CA emissions) you have EGR. Otherwise you don't have EGR. Only the 50-state model 240 had it.

The EGR vacuum modulator sits right next to the ABS unit, above the airflow meter. Don't have this part? You don't have EGR. Also, the exhaust manifold will have a pipe coming off of it, and going around the rear of the engine. Don't have that either? No EGR.

Check the spec label on the left strut tower to see if it complies with 49 state (Federal) or 50-state (California) emissions to help you ID the car. Otherwise look for the parts. Even if your car wasn't purchased in CA, it could have EGR. Don't let original point of purchase determine it.

I'm not aware of any distinction between exhaust for sedans or wagons.

      Thanks, Chris!

It is now clear that I don't have EGR. That picture was great.

Also, you are right--there is no difference between the sedan and wagon as far as the exhaust is concerned. That was my mistake.
