Yet another CR-814 Question 900 1993

When i tap the faceplate of the radio i can hear the "thump" through the speakers, or when I touch the body of the unit with it removed. Is this some kind of problem that is easily fixed by me?

Tom

    Yet another CR-814 Question 900 1993

You might want to check the harness attached to the back of the radio. Often, if the wiring harness is loose or the connector is damaged, it will make intermittent contact and create a thumping sound. Also, check the radio and amplifier's electrical ground. If it is not grounded properly, your body will set up an artificial ground and cause a thumping sound as you touch the radio. If this doesn't work, see a reputable car stereo installation shop or an auto electric shop. They can likely check the harness and connectors to see if there is a bad connection.
