Buzzing sound when car off, fails to start 200 1982

I have a 1982 244dl with a B21-K engine, around 125k miles, and up until this morning it ran great.

I came home, the car was off, but i heard a buzzing sound from the firewall. If I take the breaker from the fuel pump out (the 7th breaker down from the top) the noise stops. I checked the relay with a meter and its working.

Has anyone had this happen before or have any clue to what can be done to fix it?

Thanks

Its most likely your in-tank fuel pump that you can hear, faulty fuelpump relay. You can see detail photos on how to fix it on my web site:

I am guess the relay is pulsing with a bad internal connection. Replace the relay.. or fix it if you know how. Email me at runabout4fun@yahoo.com if you want instructions on how to refurbish contacts on the actualy relays inside the unit.
