Under Car Vibration 200

My 1990 240 is vibrating when I get close to 50mph, it pretty much disappears when I reach 60mph. It was doing it only while going at that speed. Now I also notice the vibration when I let up on the gas from that speed. I have already replaced the transmission mount. The rubber around the center bearing looks good. Could the torque rod bushings be the culprit? (I just replaced the wornout trailing arm bushings.) How about the transmission? (it got down a couple of quarts when a cooling line wore through.)

I would just make sure the tires are all balanced and you don't have a bent wheel- with the potholes left over from this winter, I'm surprised any of my cars have straight wheels. Fortunately my Virgos seem to have survived intact! However, my wife's car got a distorted tire- like a radial belt shifted or something, possibly from impact damage. The tire almost seemed to have a D-shape. Very odd feeling at very low speeds, then a high-speed vibration.

Mark,

I am searching for the source of some vibration also. The tires on the front went out of round in 10k miles. I had new ones mounted and ballanced today and still have a shake in the steering wheel. I suspect that one or both of the front brake rotors is way out of ballance.

Mak
