dumb question about POR-15 200

does anyone know if the regular black POR-15 paint is good for brake calipers? I assume that it won't be able to take that kind of heat, but who knows? it's pretty impressive stuff anyways and maybe it will work. Just thought I'd ask, as I'm getting ready to put some new calipers on, and thought they'd look nice in a black finish. thanks!

dumb question about POR-15 200

I painted my equipment trailer with POR-15 several years back. Had it jacked up with tires off so I could spray liberally underneath the bed and lower frame. I taped up the lug studs and sprayed the hubs that have electric brakes. I have never had a problem with the POR-15 buring off from residule heat, but the UV rays will dull the exposed area of POR-15. It needs a top coat to maintain gloss in UV ray exposure. It's damn good stuff, don't get it on your skin. But it's also expensive. I'd try for a high temp gloss paint if I were going to paint the calipers.

Nate, this has nothing to do with your problem , but for some reason you are logged into my screen name. Make sure you are logged into yours before you post. Steve

I realized that as soon as I posted it and it said that. I'm sorry about that and have absolutely no clue how that happened. Believe me, it was not intentional. It always just automatically logs me in, and for some reason, it logged me in as you. I promptly signed out and signed in under my name. Sorry about that; I'll check it more carefully in the future!
