Coolant temp sensor 200 1991

Coolant Temp Sensor: is it the one below intake manifold with square connector, 2 wires?
Engine doesn't idle well when cold or when stopped for a short period of time.
Can I check the resistance of this sensor cold and hot? What numbers are good?
I hate to replace anything until I know it is bad.

    Your LH 3.1 should light the check engine light if the coolant temp sensor is faulty, but you can test it with an ohmmeter if you want. Here are the specs: -10 degrees celcius 8260 to 10560 ohms. At 20 degrees Celcius 2280 to 2720 ohms. At 80 degrees celcius 290 to 364 ohms.
