Wheels for a '63 1800? 1800 1963

What wheel size am I looking at here? I just got the car and I'm not sure what to do about the wheels.

Thanks

Wheels for a '63 1800? 1800 1963

Stock specs:

Bolt circle: 5 on 4-1/2"
Diameter: 15"
Width: 4-1/2"
Tire: 165R-15 (same as old VW Beetle)

You can easily go to a 6" wide rim with 1/2" to 1" positive offset (the wheels tuck into the body, not out) and run 195-15/60 tires. If they are alloy wheels, check that they'll clear the brake calipers.

Wider wheels, or 16" with 50-series tires, might work depending on the specific wheel, your car's ride height, etc. The ideal is to keep the centerline of the new wheels close to where the centerline of the original wheels was.
