240 Hood light 200 1990

My hood light/engine bay light was working fine. I unscrewed it to clean the plasic lense and when I reinstalled it, it didn't work.

I checked the circuit and the bulb with a voltage meter/continuity tester and everything seems fine there. Any ideas?

Do you have 12 vdc going to the terminals of the switch? If you do, then either your ground (at the screw point) is bad, the mercury element is not working, the switch is bad or the light is out. My mercury element is bad because the metal wire from the terminal is broken inside. I have to replace the mercury element portion or get a new light altogether.

Have fun.

Lawren
