Non-Starting volvo Part 3. *With Pictures*!!

I guess I'll recap the story. I got busy with school and haven't driven the car in about a week and now it won't start. During that time we had pretty severe rains but i've never had water problems before. I have spark, It cranks but won't start up. Fuel Delivery problem.

I looked at the relay below the passenger seat:

Opened it up and it looked like it was functional, no moisture and all the contacts were clean with no cracks in the solder or anything.

Next I tried to locare the 25 amp fuse for the fuel injection but i couldn't find it. Here's a picture of the engine bay close to the battery.

There is, however, a 30amp fuse on the little red line coming from positive. (I unscrewed the powersteering resevoir to try to make for a better picture)

So I'm still stranded, i've heard something about the 4-6 trick or something like that. Can anyone clarify what this means? How should I go about checking my fuel delivery system and find a prognosis? I'll have access to a voltmeter, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It sucks not being able to get around!

Cheers,

Mike

Looks like someone replaced the 25amp fuse with a new fuse holder and a 30amp(?) fuse.

Check those grounds on top of the intake manifold. Verify that the ring terminals are still connected to the wires, the clean and tighten the mounting areas. Also verify the braided ground strap between engine and firewall. Make sure the cap nut on the valve cover is actually tight.

Check the fuses at the block related to fuel delivery (#3 & #7 ??) PULL them out and MAKE SURE these are really O.K. Unless you actually take them out of the holders, you're only guessing. They can be broken and you'd never see that.

Unhook the connector to the AMM, then try starting the engine. If it starts, the AMM might be the problem. But it's is probably something simpler.

I'm sorry I'm such an idiot.. where are the "fuses on the block". I'm gonna go out there and try to find them. Does anyone have a diagram of where everyhting is? It's hard locating boxes that you have no clue what they control. Thanks
