Car Dies - Crank Sensor ??? 900

Does a '92 940 GL, Regina, use a 'crank sensor', I believe so. The car dies while driving, RPM's drop to zero. I've read this forum, they say to check the sensor (freyed wires) & power stage. Is the power Stage is part of the coil?
