I think i may have found my problem.... 200

I unplugged my AMM and strangely enough it started right up. The wierd thing is it never started before when i tried the unplug trick, Maybe it was just a gradual thing? I put my ohm meter on the #2 an #3 post on the amm and got a 36kilo ohms(cheap omh meter) so what to do? I s it worth 30 bucks to replace it and go form there or should i test some more?
Thanks

Turns out the reason it work only when the amm was unplugged is the bottom of the intake hose(bellow) was off. Resulting in a huge vac leak. So i'm back to where i strated ,hot restart problem. I can get it started warm/hot , only after excessive cranking , and when it finally does start , it bellows black smoke for about 1 minute then runs fine. As i said before both pumps are less than 6 months old, the IAc is new but when plugged in it runs the rpms up to 4000. The fpr is ok, cap and rotor is new new plugs, new harness(btw Dave Barton has a harness available if anyone needs one). I am kinda low on gas , about 1/4 tank , so i know i need some gas. The Temp. sensor is new also.
Thanks in advance.

Hmmm...

"...when it finally does start , it bellows black smoke..."

Have you checked to see that you don't have one or more injectors that are leaking? If they are dribbling gas when shut down then it would be almost like starting a carbureted engine that was flooded?

Just a thought...

Check that 25 amp fuse under the hood, between distributor & battery. If it look corroded, replace it and the fuse holder.

If you can find a used AMM for $30 I'd say it's worth it. That'll be good for a spare anyway. They're a lot more than that usually, new or used. Avoid rebuilt ones- no luck with those.
