keys sometimes do not work in ignition switch. 200

1984 244, Sometimes key 1 will not turn in the switch to unlock the steering and start the car. Using key 2 may then work. Later key 2 will not work, but key 1 will. I understand that the steering wheel needs to be turned a little sometime to relieve pressure so that the key can unlock the column. Are the tumblers messed up? How would I remove the switch mechanism? I have removed the rear electrical switch on another 84 before, but do not understand how to remove the front end key portion. Is this what would have to be done to have a locksmith repair the switch, or do I have to get a new one from Volvo, or a used one from a pull a part?
