where can I find a cheap boost gauge? 700

Looked at IPD but $50-100 is a little more than I want to spend on a boost gauge. I don't need one that is pretty looking or lighted at night... just want one that can tell me how much boost i'm running and that is fairly easy to hook up. Any suggestions on where I can find such a gauge? or does such a thing not exist?

well, how about getting a carb balencing guage (should cost u about $10) then make up a bracket to mount onto the top of your dash, thats what i did, works a wonder....

I got a VDO boost gauge from Summit Racing... just "installed" it today. Anyway, it was about $27, with "free" shipping ($7 handling charge). Tubing kit ($7) is sold separately... I opted to use my own tubing. I also got a mounting cup ($14).

Hooking it up is easy... figuring out where/how to mount the thing will be a little more complicated... definitely need something a little better than this ;>

I found this website on how to build your own boost gauge. It is for a motorcycle though.... but I imagine this kinda setup could be done on a Volvo as well for the same $$. Here is the website!!

I'm sure that setup would work... you would just need to mess around with the fittings (not a bad project).

The tricky part would be finding a pressure gauge with the right scale: you're only going to be making 7-8 pounds of boost, so you really don't want a gauge that reads up to 100#. Even if you go nuts with the wastegate rod or a g-valve, the needle shouldn't go past 14 or 15.

That looks like the cleanest solution. He states a couple of times accuracy is "around" 1psi or so. It could be tested against a calibrated guage I suppose and an offset be lived with.

Otherwise, I'm considering mounting an external guage on my steering column similar to the temp position posted above.

I don't have the same instrument cluster as the one pictured. Do they make one that will fit my dashboard? boost gauge under the tach?
