I don't understand anything! My idle suddenly goes way low, and engine sometimes stop, it's running so low that the gear lever is shaking out of my hand(manual) I've found out this: It's not the magnet valve for the idle, i've tried with it and without it. This is what happens: idle is fine, i rev the car in neutral to around 3500-4000. when it drops back down idle is messed up, extremely low. If i restart the car everything is fine... I can do this like 10 times and same thing happens. I replaced the ignition cables, spark plugs, coil, rotor/cap, changed out the points with ignitor. When idle goes bad and i trie to rev the engine it runs extremely rough like i's on 3 cylinders, it also rund rough when i drive it, but not so little power that i would suspect only 3 cylinders working, and it may suddenly start to run good! I'm starting to think there may be som internally wrong with the engine, because i've been trough the carb (zenith 175) and igntion several times.

Need help on this one can't seem to get anywhere

Sounds like a carb problem. How's the damper fluid level. Ie. if low, needle drops too quickly and starves engine.

Have you adjusted your throttle stop screw for faster idle. Maybe you are running a tad too low at idle.

Look at you air mass meter. If the adjusting seal has never been broken it could stil be sick. I purchased one (used) for $100 the seal was broke & it didn't work. Anyway it sounds similar to a problem I had. In the meter is a very thin wire (I forgot the type of metal)and this must heat up just right for the air & fuel system to work. While you're at it replace the main fuel pump if it has many miles on it. My 85 with 240,000 had rust in the pump. Too, the intank pump (less expensive) should be replaced. The rubber sleeve that connects the pump to the line is probably rotten. Happy sailing. Hugh Sr.

Maybe i was'nt clear enough in the original point. My engine is carburetted by a Stromberg carb, also called zenith. I do not have an AMM, The only thing electrical in the fuel system is a magnet valve that is suppose to close for the idle cicruit when engine is shut off to keep it from running after you turn off the ignition.
