Follow up on rough idle and no power.... 200 1990

Last week, out of the blue, my brick started idling poorly and having no power what-so-ever. Gave me more like 15mpg on the highway! Anyhow, I took RHAIRE's advice on checking the Fuel Pressure Regulator, which happened to be the culprit. Yesterday I replaced it with a new one from FCP and the car is back to running like new!!

Thanks to all others who also contributed to my question.

Cheers,
SM

I just replaced the one on my 93 last night. it was about 10 psi over the specs, at 55 psi with no vacuum and 45 psi at idle with vacuum. What was yours reading?

Joe, did you notice any difference in driveability or performance with the new FPR? Seems to me the higher pressure would be an asset for performance, as long as the LH system could maintain proper A/F ratio.

I'm still on the first tank of gas (went camping this weekend) so I'll post the results soon. I didn't notice any change in power or idle quality, but expect to see a change in mpg.
