I'm just wondering what other peoples Volvos are getting for mileage.

PLease state model, year, aspiration (carb, FI, Turbo?), odometer reading.

1981 240 wagon, carburated, 262000 kilometers, about 11.5 liters/100km.

1980 240, 2.1L carb
322,000KM ( or so...odometer sometimes doesn't work)
I get around 250km a tank (40L)
i blame a 130 pound system in my trunk , city driving, a carb that needs to be rebuilt and ONE LEAD FOOT.

1982 244 b23e automatic 12.5 litres per 100k mixed city/highway, 275,000km.

'89 244 FI automatic 18-22 mpg
'90 244 FI automatic 18-22 mpg
'83 245 FI Wagon 4sp+OD 24-34 mpg (even loaded!)

I guess you know you need to divide by 4 for kilometers per litre

1980 245 B21A (SU carb) manual (m46 with overdrive). 20 liters gets me at least 200 km. Ie. between 10 and 11 km per liter.

Over the past 20 years, I have had five Volvos, including 240's ('76, '82, '84, '91) and a '88 740. (The '84 was my favorite!). Anyway, they all have had the normally aspirated, 4 cylindar engine -- B21, B23, & B230. All have got around 26 or 27 mpg highway, and about 24 regular driving (partial highway and around town).
