I need some oddball parts 700 1991

I just bought a beautiful 1991 740 turbo wagon from a guy selling it on Ebay, and I need to find a couple of tiny parts that actually are pretty important. One is the button you use to reset the trip meter - Volvo says you can only buy it with the whole speedo - and the red lens that covers the button for the hazard flashers - again, Volvo tells me that you have to buy the whole turn signal/cruise control mechanism. Any ideas as to where I could get these little tiny parts?

Thanks for your help.

    darius,
I've always been a bit skeptical about cars on ebay, like somebody unlaoding their problems onto someone else. Are you satisfied with your buy? The car was as described? Thanks,

Well, time will tell - I pick it up on Friday. I have a 1986 744 and am very familiar with these cars, and I know what to look for pretty much, and the car was close enough for me to take a test drive and make sure it didn't have multiple problems. I have been closely watching Ebay Motors for more than a year now knowing I would eventually buy a Volvo RWD wagon. I have gotten to know some of the sellers through email correspondence. I also have found that sellers depend on their feeback profile for their reputation. If a number of people buy cars from some one and they are not as they said they were, they will get a lot of negative feedback...the essence of doing business effectively on ebay is being up front and honest and having "no surprises."

Take a look at what is out there and look it over carefully, consider having an inspection done if it is too far to travel for a test drive (around $100 US), and see what happens. Used cars are always a gamble.

Another good option for miscellaneous plastic bits is Brian Leppin at volvousedparts.com.

I highly recommend Brian at volvousedparts.com

I needed the little plastic "L" shaped trim piece that goes below the parking brake handle, and an interior tail light cover for a wagon. He knew exactly what I was talking about over the phone (even with my vague descriptions) and had them at my door in a matter of days. Very pleasant -- very professional.

I will definately use him again in the future.

Just two of the more common plastic bits to break in a 740... they're right about not selling them separately. Keep an eye on ebay or call the junkyards...

call Steve at this number 1 800-449-0114 ask him if he can get you those parts used, he might have them on the shelf somewhere, if you tell him Jason from brickboard told you to call he will cut you a very good price.

Boneyard. I tried three cars to get the little red lens for my '91 740....

Be aware that an original lens is likely to be as brittle as yours, so might snap when you try to remove it.

Is it meant to be removed? Otherwise, how could you replace the little light in there if it blows?
