Anyone know if it is possible to put new doors on an older estate?
Specifically the rear doors. The new ones have electric windows and the old
doors dont. Is it possible to wire up the new ones ? I also have the front
ones with the 4 buttons to wind the windows. Is the wiring in place or is
there more involved?
The estate is an 85 model 740 and the donor doors are from a 89 740 SE
Saloon.

It's possible to do anything with enough work. Check your existing wiring harness: you may find that it came pre-wired for electric doors, which were omitted on your particular car. If not, you can fashion a new wiring harness to run to the door window switches. Use an OEM wiring diagram to help you fabricate this.
