Early 745 Windsheild Replacement 700 1985

I'm getting ready to replace the windsheild on my 1985 745 Turbo. I have heard that its possible (and maybe preferable) to use the later model 7XX series windshield since it has the trim already attached. Has anyone done this? How does it look relative to the existing setup? What model year is the best to use in this application? Any other suggestions?

    I got one from the junkyard. with DIY dissassembly it cost about 30 $.
    Let it install at a glass shop around 50 $.
    When you take it out - it helps when you know a musician. ;)
    Don't know if later models fit.

    When the cowl is off, zip-tie the grille to the cowl. Eventually it will fall off, letting stuff in.

    I just had mine replaced last week at the local auto glass shop. They had the clips to reinstall the new windsheild. Cost a whole whopping $190.00. Not bad after calling all around town.
