244GL Dashboard light 200 1983

My dashboard Bulb out yellow light flashes on briefly for 1/2 second whenever I hit my brakes. I've checked ALL lights on the vehicle and they all work great, but why does the light go on only when I hit the brakes. It's just an annoyance.

    Hi Dale, my car does the same thing :-). All the lights work fine, but the light will flicker or stay on sometimes. You can also take a light sandpaper and clean the bulb socket connections with it. Also use a small wire brush to clean inside the bulb socket. Lightly sand the copper ring where the socket screws onto place on. This will give it a better connection. Take care. Michael

    they work, but they are not EXACTLY the same. For the 1st 1/2 second, the resistances are different. When the filaments are hot, the resistance is the same, so the warning light goes out.

    Go buy a pack of 2 bulbs. Replace the brake bulbs with two matching bulbs and your problem will go away.
