1988 240GL Rear Lights Out 200 1988

Worked some more on the car this weekend and decided to wash and wax. This evening I went to move the car back outside (daughter's car stays out while my daily driver gets the garage).

In moving the car I noticed that the right side (passenger) taillights do not work now. The last time we drove it at night they did work. Did a quick check (switched the bulbs from side to side) and it seems to be a problem with the wiring.

Before I tear everything apart (and tear out what hair I have left) I thought I would ask fellow bricksters for some (always accurate) advice - any ideas?

As always - many thanks

Just checked for replied and tried your trick. Switched the two fuses (both looked good) and - as we say in New Mexico - ay que bueno - we now have lights.

I suggested to my daughter (it is her car) that this weekend she removes each fuse, cleans the contacts, and puts them back - told her to do this one-by-one.

      Many thanks for the post.

I would pull the wiring plug that feeds 12v to that assembly and use a test light or meter to determine if voltage is being delivered to that side- As a guess I would say it probably is and you will need to clean up all the contacts for the plug and the bulbs. Don't forget to clean up the grounds as well. A pencil eraser works well for cleaning the printed circuits on the assembly.

Post by rmagoo worked but I did notice that the fuse block could use cleaning - I would imagine that the contacts at the light could use it also.

Nicole (daughter) has agreed this weekend to clean all the contacts at the fuse as well as the read lights - pencil eraser best? Also, are there any other 'connections' she should tackle as 'preventative maintenance'?

Thanks for the help - appreciate the posts.
