Bertone 262c available in Texas. -hurry. 200

Since the topic of Bertones came up recently, I thought I'd post this here for all interested parties. Note: I am not the seller, just posting a link to an ebay auction that you might find interesting and dirt cheap for a project car.

It looks to be a complete 262c Bertone (unknown year), minus the engine and a tail light assembly. From the condition of the roof, I would bet this car's been garaged for most of it's life. The interior looks complete from the pictures and the leather looks pretty good for a southern car. The wheels are the 14" Dersus and not the originals. All glass looks to be intact and all body panels look to be in decent shape with only a bit of surface rust on the hood.

If this were anywhere with a few states of Michigan, I'd love to pick up a nice project car. (swap in a B230F and computer out of a donar car). Auction ends Monday, April 7th, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Pacific.

Good luck and God bless,
Fitz Fitzgerald.

It's possible to get a title, if you are willing to make a few phone calls and write a couple letters. Even if the Secretary of State doesn't give you the original title, they'll get you something that you can drive with. I've known this to happen on various restoration / custom projects. It also happened to a guy who bought about 30 decommissioned HMMWVs from the military (aka Humvees). He had to write the Georgia Secretary of State to get titles for them, and they did so after he proved that he had added all the necessary hardware to make them street legal. (HMMWVs don't come with backup lights, etc.)

In the end, getting a title for a vehicle you purchase can be done (if the seller doesn't have one), but don't expect the process to be overnight.

Also, I thought I should mention this: I emailed the auction seller and it turns out that he has 2 of them. He is being flooded with requests for parts, but he would like to sell the cars as whole/complete vehicles.
