question about AC retrofit 200 1988

Hello all
I have been reading up on the 12 to 134A retrofit in the forum, but one point seems to elude (SP) me. I am not replacing the compressor but I will be draining the oil. The documentation I have found says that if replacing compressor do "NOT" put oil in the dryer. Replace is different than Remove and Replace right? And if I do need oil in dryer, How much? Much thanks in advance.

Joe Scott

your best bet is to replace the compressor as well. i realize $$ might be an issue but in the long run, you'll have MUCH BETTER response from the system. I replaced mine about 2 years ago and the only oil i remember was in the compressor. if $$ is a factor, call swedish enginering, they've got the BEST equip at the best price.

Thanks Bubba 200 1988

$$$$ is a major issue. I did the work however sunday morning --> evening. We thank we have the right amount of oil. The compressor works perfect and I get good presure in the system. No obviouse leaks. However, I mangled the capilary tubes on the install and suspect this is why the expansion valve failed. I will be going back in next weekend. Thanks for your reply.
